Sailing in Naples and Venice - The America’s Cup World Series
You may have attended the ACWS Naples from April 7 to 15, 2012; and maybe you are attending the one in Venice from May 12 to 20, 2012.
The ACWS Naples April 7-15, 2012, brought more than 500,000 fans (according to the America’s Cup World Series website) to the Bay and according to napoliunplugged.com the number of visitors drawn to Naples for the AC World Series was around 1.5 million. Only imagine what the numbers will be in Venice; especially if we think about the fact that during the regattas there will be a festival of sailing taking place (May 12 to 20).

Before coming back to Italy in 2013 the AC World Series 2011-2012 will end in Newport, Rhode Island (June 26 - July 1). The beginning of the AC World Series 2012-2013 on the other hand will take place in San Francisco, California from August 21 – 26, 2012, and from October 4 - 7, 2012. Then the regattas come back to Italy, but this time they will be in Venice in April (April 16-21, 2013) and in Naples in May (May 14-19, 2013).
If you are a sailing enthusiast you are probably aware of this information, but if you are not, and maybe you are just a traveler interested in coming to Italy in April or May of 2013, then at least you know about this important event.
